The ritual will be held in a Druidic style — the ritual team will be local OBOD Druids. Samhain marks the final spoke in the Wheel of the Year and is one of the most sacred Sabbats in Wiccan practice. It is the Witches' New Year, a liminal time when the veil between the worlds is thinnest. The harvest is complete, the fields are bare, and the earth begins her long rest. We turn inward, honoring the cycle of death, transformation, and the unseen. In Wiccan tradition, Samhain is a time for ancestral reverence, deep reflection, and powerful magic. The God has entered the underworld, and the Goddess, in her Crone aspect, guides us through shadow, mystery, and remembrance. We honor those who have passed, light candles for our beloved dead, and listen more deeply to the quiet voices of intuition and spirit. Though the theme is death, Samhain is not morbid — it is sacred. It teaches that death is not an end, but a threshold to the next turning of the cycle. We release, remember, and renew. Whether through silent meditation, joyful celebration, or heartfelt ritual, we gather to honor the darkness — both in the world and within ourselves — knowing that transformation begins here. Doors open at 19:30. The talk-through begins around 20:00 and the ritual follows shortly after. We are usually finished between 21:30 and 22:00, with time afterwards to stay and talk — there is a bar on site. You do not need to have done anything like this before. Everything is explained beforehand — what will happen, what it means, what your part is, and what to do if you would rather simply stand and watch. Newcomers are guided through the ritual as it unfolds. Whether you have practised for years or have never set foot in a ritual, you are welcome. Street clothes are perfectly fine. If you have ritual dress and would like to wear it, please do. The evening is held in English.
